August 20-26: A Light Week, Except for that Ironman

Last week was a light training week Monday through Saturday. Only 4.5 hours. Such sloth.

Then there was a matter of this little race.

More on the race later. For now, the week in summary.

Monday: A quick 2700 meter aerobic swim in the morning. Packing for the race in the evening.

Tuesday: A 19 mile bike-3 mile run brick at Hains Point in the morning, followed by  bike drop-off at Sarah’s place in the evening.

Wednesday: Rest day, used to finish all the packing checklists.

Thursday: Easy 2200 yard swim in the morning, followed by half a day of work and then part of the drive to Louisville.

Friday: Remainder of the drive to Louisville, followed by check in and a 1:15 bike-run brick.

Saturday: 20 minute swim in the Ohio River, 10 minutes of biking to make sure it was in good working order, and then a lot of laying down, stretching, napping, and hydrating.

Sunday: 2.4 miles of swimming in 1:08, 112 miles of biking in 7:03, and 26.2 miles of running (plus walking) in  5:48. Total race time of 14:12.
